Youth Statement
The Child and Nature Alliance is committed to authentically involving youth in all aspects of its work. The following statement was created by the youth delegates at the March 2009 Get Outside! It’s in Our Nature Forum to ensure that their voice continues to be heard in the movement to reconnect children and families to nature. The declaration was signed by forum delegates and is a guiding statement in the development of the Alliance.

| Within this continuing movement to connect children with nature, we affirm the importance of youth voice and involvement in every aspect of what we collectively seek to achieve.For youth to successfully continue to participate it is imperative to provide ongoing financial support, political will and authentic youth engagement in the planning process of all aspects of this movement.Signed March 7th, 2009 at the Get Outside: It’s in our Nature Forum, Royal Roads University, Victoria, BC
