The Take Me Outside Run Across Canada is almost complete! Colin will be finishing his cross-Canada tour on October 25th at Royal Roads University on Vancouver Island.

Take Me Outside, in partnership with The Child and Nature Alliance and KidActive, is in its final days of completing the TMO Project: Unplugging and Reconnecting Outside - an interactive, educational and inspirational run across Canada focused on getting youth outside and active, while reconnecting with nature.

Playing in the snow, skiing up to the summit of Mt. Washington, the most beautiful view you could find on a sunny January day, improving my knowledge about the prevention of avalanches, chilling with 15 of my good friends, and a nice hot meal at the end of a rather stormy second day. That’s a pretty awesome weekend, wouldn’t you say? And to think all of that is a requirement for one of my high school courses.

The Child and Nature Alliance is partnering with the Take Me Outside project as they run across Canada in 2011 to encourage kids to unplug and get outside! They will be visiting schools in communities across the country to deliver programs that encourage kids to play outside. Are you a teacher interested in hosting the Take Me Outside team?
